In a significant development related to the teacher appointment corruption case in West Bengal, the (ED) conducted a lengthy and exhaustive interrogation of WB Food and Supplies Minister Rathin Ghosh. The ED team had initiated raids at Rathin Ghosh's residence in Madhyamgram earlier that Thursday morning. Additionally, the central agency's officials conducted searches in four municipalities and nine other locations as part of this operation.
Rathin Ghosh, in response to the ED's interrogation, stated, 'I have provided all the information that was asked of me.' He further alleged that the ED's actions were politically motivated, referring to it as an act of political vendetta.
During the course of these events, his supporters reportedly raised slogans in protest. Notably, Ghosh had served as the president of the Trinamool-run Madhyamgram Municipality from 2009 to 2020. The alleged corruption in teacher recruitment is said to have occurred in municipalities between 2014 and 2018.
